SalesDoc Architect now works with VAR (value-added reseller) list pricing, making it easy for you to add pricing from vendors who base reseller costs on a VAR List price less a discount. You can also import VAR List pricing (as you can any field in the Parts Master) via the Import function. NEW! Vendor discount sub-categories have been added, enabling you to incorporate vendor discount structures (like those from Nortel and Cisco) that vary by the market being sold to (commercial, national accounts, government, etc.). UPDATED! Functionality for the ManualItem flag has been modified to enable you to import pricing/costing from vendor configuration tools, while providing you with the ability to customize a subset of vendor parts with new descriptions, part notes, labor hours, linked document sections, etc. NEW! You can generate Word document sections that are based on named Excel ranges within any SalesDoc Architect tab. This enables companies to perform calculations (such as for leasing options) or accept user inputs (such as for customer pre-sales checklists) within an Excel-based SalesDoc Architect tab, then insert the Excel range into Word-based proposals and statements of work generated by SalesDoc Architect. NEW! Tables of contents can be inserted into SalesDoc Architect’s proposal and statement of work (SOW) content. After a proposal or SOW has been created, SalesDoc Architect will update the table of contents, pulling in all text that has been formatted with a “Heading”-type style. For your convenience, we have added new “tableofcontents” and “solutionheader” documents to Section Manager; to include these docs in your outputs, you will need to add them to a DocSections range within any SalesDoc Architect tab (including MiscProd). NEW! A data-only “Create End-User Package” option has been added to the Setup view so that you can create smaller, data-only update packages for your users. NEW! To reduce the file size of the SalesDoc Architect database and the end-user package files that you create, a “Compress database” option has been added under the File menu. Database compression is automatically performed as part of the backup or “Create End-User Package” functions. NEW! The (end-user) SalesDoc Architect application has been updated to automatically incorporate any changes that you make via SalesDoc Architect Manager. As a result, the “Update Excel Components” button is redundant and has been removed. UPDATED! The Section Manager application within Library Manager has been revamped to make it easier to add, move and update document sections. The section order can be changed by clicking the “Move Up” and “Move Down” buttons. UPDATED! The Mitel document sections were substantially modified from a style perspective to facilitate inclusion in tables of contents, as well as to make it easy to apply global style changes (including font types, font sizes, etc.) to template documents that flow through to all document sections. An Excel-based reporting utility has been added, enabling SalesDoc Architect administrators to pull data out of various tables within the SalesDoc Architect database. To use this utility, open up Reports.xls in the PQManager directory, select the desired report and click “Go”. NEW! You can now delete documents, parts and item categories along with all related records in other tables in a single operation. Simply highlight the documents, parts or item categories that you’d like to delete and click the Delete button. After receiving a confirmation message (which will also inform you if related records will be deleted as well), the highlighted record(s) and all related records will be deleted. Please note that you are only able to delete documents, parts and item categories that you create. NEW! A “Backup PQ Manager” button has been added on the Setup view (found under the File menu). When clicked, the entire SalesDoc Architect Manager application and all data will be backed up to a single, self-extracting EXE file. To re-install SalesDoc Architect Manager from scratch, you should first run the SalesDoc Architect Manager setup file, THEN double-click the self-extracting EXE file to restore all application and data updates. Numerous other functionality enhancements have been added as well, but are too minor to mention. SALESDOC ARCHITECT (END-USER) FUNCTIONALITY CHANGESNEW! An “Add part notes” option has been added to the option list dialog box for the Schedule of Equipment output. As a result, new discount categories have been added to SalesDoc Architect, and you must enter the new distributor discounts for your company into each of these new categories. Companies subscribing to SalesDoc Architect Pro will simply need to add the new vendor discounts to the Vendor Discount Categories table found under the Categories menu of SalesDoc Architect Manager (you should do this AFTER the merge process so that the new categories can be added). While you are in that table, we recommend that you disable the old Mitel distributor discounts, along with the old i4/i9 discounts. This can be accomplished by setting the “Include” flag to “N”. Companies subscribing to SalesDoc Architect Basic should download the vendor discount update utility, enter your discounts, then click the “Update Vendor Discounts” button to update your CustomInfo.xls file. You can then distribute the updated CustomInfo.xls file to your other users and ask them to save the CustomInfo.xls file to their [Install folder]\PQuote\Data folder (usually the c:\Program Files\CorsPro\PQuote\Data folder). Graybar and Tech Data are providing three basic discount categories: Hardware, Software and Legacy distribution products. You can use the table below as a guide to entering the new distribution discounts.

The MPT import function has been modified to handle imports from MPT version 1.6, which places the exported file in a directory that is different from version 1.5. If you have versions 1.5 and 1.6 on your PC, SalesDoc Architect will provide you with a choice of the directory to pull the exported file from. Once you have permanently moved to MPT version 1.6, you can eliminate this extra dialog box by deleting the export.xml file from your Documents and Settings folder. NEW! A comments field has been added to the bottom of the Base Info tab to enable users to insert project-specific notes and comments. The comments will carry over to any forms that reference the Comments field. Numerous other functionality enhancements have been added as well, but are too minor to mention.
