SalesDoc Architect Release Date: October 11, 2011
END-USER CHANGES
- New! An “Export Assy/SubAssy” button has been added to the Build Sub-Assemblies & Final Assemblies dialog box, accessible via the Assemblies button on the SDA toolbar (available only to Pro Edition subscribers). This enables you to save assemblies/sub-assemblies that you’ve created in live quotes as template files that you can import into future quotes. Simply click the sub-assembly or final assembly that you’d like to export, then click the “EXPORT Assy/SubAssy” button. Once the information is exported, save the file to your hard drive (for quicker access, save it to your PQuote/Assemblies folder). For more info, click the Help button within the Build Sub-Assemblies & Final Assemblies dialog box.
ARCHITECT MANAGER CHANGES
- New! We’ve created a new way to push information from CRM solutions and contact managers into new SalesDoc Architect quote files that eliminates the need to merge the data into Word, then have the user click the “Open SalesDoc Architect” button. From your CRM solution, create an Excel file called “MergeData.xls” in the PQuote/Data folder, then call a sub-routine called “MergeDataToNewQuote” in PQFunct.xla. With no further user intervention, the data in the MergeData.xls file will be pushed into a new SDA quote file. A sample of the MergeData.xls file can be downloaded here.

SalesDoc Architect Release Date: August 26, 2011
END-USER CHANGES
- New! SalesDoc Architect Pro Edition subscribers will notice a new Assemblies button on their toolbar. This new functionality enables solutions to be configured using a building-block approach. This is especially useful when configuring complex solutions with multiple bill-of-material levels, such as structured cabling and audio/video solutions. In order to utilize the assemblies functionality, your administrator must perform some setup. To learn more, we encourage you to sign up for one of our upcoming webinars (on August 31 and September 9) on the new functionality.
- New! The Help button has expanded to include a whole drop-down menu of help resources. Several of the help options take you directly to pages on our website where you can read information or submit requests for support, vendor content updates or product improvements. We encourage you to use those resources and communicate with us!
- New! The time to create a new SalesDoc Architect quote file has been substantially reduced. Instead of rebuilding it from scratch every time, only the updated components (e.g., if the Base Info tab has been modified) are updated when a new quote file is created.
ARCHITECT MANAGER CHANGES
- New! We’ve added several new quote import options, including QuoteWerks, ScanSource (for ShoreTel quotes), Anixter, Catalyst, Jenne, and Tech Data. If there is an import option that you’re looking for, please contact us as well, as we may already have it.
- New! New assemblies functionality – especially useful for structured cabling solutions – has been added to SalesDoc Architect for Pro Version subscribers (you’ll know if you have it if you see the Assemblies button on your toolbar). This is substantial new functionality, almost a separate tool in itself. Some administrator setup is required. We encourage you to sign up for one of our upcoming webinars (on August 31 and September 9) on the new functionality. For those who have been using the beta version of this functionality, there are new features in this edition, including the ability to save sub-assembly/assembly template files.

May, 2011 Updates
SalesDoc Architect Version: 7.068
SalesDoc Architect Release Date: May 13, 2011
END-USER CHANGES
- New! The Price Book has a new look: rather than pulling up an Excel tab, when you click the Price Book button, a search dialog screen will pop up. You can enter search criteria in one or more of the search fields, and use * (the asterisk) as a wildcard character. You can also enter the first few characters within any field. Once the searched-for parts are listed, select one or more parts, then click the “Insert Selected Items into Quote” button to insert them into the quote. Hold the Control or Shift keys to select more than one item at the same time.
- New! In conjunction with the new Price Book search dialog box, you can also search the Tigerpaw price book and bring those items into a SalesDoc Architect quote. In order to access this feature – available to all Pro Edition subscribers at no additional charge – Architect Managers will need to set up this integration.
- New! Sell price is now unprotected on the Write-In tab, and Architect Managers can optionally unprotect the sell price cell(s) on their other tabs if they unprotect them in the raw versions of those tabs. When updating tabs (via the Update tabs button), SDA will change the color of the cell to blue if there’s a value in the cell (rather than a formula). Also, if a user deletes/clears a sell price cell, SDA will add the default sell price formula back in when Update tabs is run.
ARCHITECT MANAGER CHANGES
- New! A new report – the “Part conflicts with vendor database” report – has been added to the Reports function within Architect Manager.
